H. Shala: Request to reconsider travel decision denied

On 29 July 2026, President Trendafilova denied Haxhi Shala’s request for reconsideration of her earlier decision refusing him permission to travel to Albania for a short holiday while serving the remainder of his sentence under conditions imposed following his release to Kosovo.

The President found that Shala had not demonstrated exceptional circumstances warranting reconsideration or a clear error of law or reasoning. She reiterated that a holiday does not constitute a sufficiently compelling basis for him to leave Kosovo while completing his sentence and reminded Shala to comply with all conditions of his release.
