Judge Roland Dekkers, Judge on the Roster of International Judges of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, has been appointed an Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau by His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands. The honour, which was presented to him on 2 April 2026, recognises his long-standing contribution to the development of international criminal and humanitarian law through his judicial service in the Netherlands, the Bosnian War Crimes Chambers, and the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova, President of the Specialist Chambers, stated: “This is a remarkable acknowledgment and recognition of the lifelong commitment of Judge Roland Dekkers to justice - international and domestic. Judge Dekkers has been a dedicated advocate for the rule of law and the advancement of its values and principles. This appointment is also an important recognition of the high calibre of the judges appointed to the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.”
