On 1 June 2022, Trial Panel I granted the request of the Victims’ counsel  and appointed Mr Stefan Lerz from the Nederlands Rekencentrum Letselschade with the mandate to calculate the material damages and economic loss by the alleged direct victims in the Mustafa case. Mr Lerz is to submit his report by 23 June 2022. More details in the decision.

Today’s hearing in the Mustafa case is adjourned and the hearing, scheduled for tomorrow (as a reserve day), 2 June, is cancelled. The trial is adjourned until further notice.

As per Panel’s order from 27 May, an SPO rebuttal witness is testifying in the Mustafa trial. In its oral order today, the Panel, based on the information provided by the Witness Protection and Support Office and having assessed that it is in the interest of justice to ensure that the witness can provide his testimony freely, granted the SPO request to proceed with the testimony of this witness fully in private session.

The stream has been restored and is now working. Please be informed that, due to earlier technical difficulties, a small segment of the hearing was not available in the live stream of the Mustafa trial today. The Kosovo Specialist Chambers will make available to media and the public as soon as possible a full public recording of today's hearing, including the segment which was not available in the live stream.

Trial Panel I on Friday granted the SPO’s request to hear a rebuttal witness and set Wednesday, 1 June 2022, as the date on which the witness will appear. The Trial Panel’s decision can be found here.

On 26 May 2022, the Defence of Salih Mustafa notified about the official closure of its case. The notification is here.
