Following the completion of testimony of the last Defence witness, the trial against Salih Mustafa is adjourned for the week and the hearing, scheduled for tomorrow (13 May), is cancelled. The trial will resume on 19 May with the unsworn statement of the accused.

Due to compelling humanitarian grounds, the Trial Panel has instructed the Registry to manage a custodial visit for Hysni Gucati to Kosovo to meet immediate family. The accused remains in detention and in the custody of the Specialist Chambers. EULEX and Kosovo police are supporting the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.

Ibadete Canolli-Kaciu is the 15th Defence witness in the Mustafa trial.

During the hearing today (12 May), the Panel issued an oral order setting Thursday, 26 May 2022, as the target date for the closure of the Defence case pursuant to Rule 131 of the Rules. Accordingly, the Defence is ordered to file a written notice in this respect on the same day.

This morning’s hearing in the Mustafa case will commence at 09:45 (or 10:30 via the delayed feed).

Rexhep Selimi pleaded not guilty to the new charges in the latest confirmed indictment. This was the last hearing in this case today.

Following the non-guilty pleas of Thaci and Veseli this morning, Jakup Krasniqi also pleaded not guilty to the new charges in the confirmed amended indictment.
