Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 11 May at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. The last two accused in the Thaçi et al. case filed their pre-trial briefs, the public redacted versions of which can be seen here: Selimi, Krasniqi. Thaçi and Veseli’s briefs were filed earlier.

Protected witness 4748 is a new SPO witness in the trial of Thaçi et al.

Salih Mustafa filed his appeal brief against the judgment, pronounced on 16 December last year. The public redacted version of the corrected appeal brief, filed on 2 May*, is available here. On 5 May 2023, the Court of Appeals panel granted in part the request by the SPO and the Victims’ counsel for extension of the time limit and authorized them to file their briefs in response to the Defence’s appeal brief until 5 June 2023.

Following requests for protection of legality filed by Gucati and Haradinaj on 2 and 3 May 2023, President Trendafilova today assigned a Supreme Court Panel, composed of herself as Presiding Judge, as well as Judges Christine van den Wyngaert and Daniel Fransen to decide on the requests. Here is the assignment decision.

Following the oral orders issued by Trial Panel, the trial against Pjetër Shala is adjourned for today and the session, scheduled for tomorrow (5 May), is cancelled. The trial will resume on Friday, 19 May, at 09:30.
