On 9 February, Presiding Judge of a Panel of the Court of Appeals Chamber Michèle Picard, pursuant to Rule 178 of the Rules, scheduled a pre-appeal conference in the Salih Mustafa case for 16 February 2022 at 10:00. Furthermore, Judge Picard ordered the Defence to file a public redacted version of its notice of appeal by 13 February at 12:00.  More details in the scheduling order.

Following the (confidential) submission of the notice of appeal  by the Mustafa Defence on 2 February, KSC President Trendafilova assigned a Court of Appeals Panel, composed of Judges Michèle Picard, Kai Ambos and Nina Jørgensen to decide on the appeal against the trial judgment, pronounced on 16 December 2022.

The appeal judgment in English, pronounced today, 2 February, against Gucati and Haradinaj, is now available in our Public Court Records.

The Court of Appeals Panel in the case of the Specialist Prosecutor v. Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj, today issued the first appeal judgment of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC). The Appeals Panel, by majority, reduced Mr Gucati’s and Mr Haradinaj’s sentences of four and a half years imposed by the Trial Panel to four years and three months of imprisonment, with credit for time served. The Appeals Panel affirmed the additional sentence to pay a fine of one hundred euros (100 EUR) each. More details in the Press Release.
