Here is the transcript of today's KSC Weekly Press Briefing.

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 5 September, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions. Pre-registration is required to attend each briefing. To pre-register, please send an email with name and affiliation to [email protected]. Following the Pre-Trial Judge's notification that the Januzi et al. case file would be ready for transmission to a Trial Panel on 4 September, the KSC President assigned this case to Trial Panel I. This Panel consists of Judges Roland Dekkers, Mappie Veldt-Foglia, Gilbert Bitti, and Vladimir Mikula as the reserve judge.

Following the completion of Rrustem Tetaj's testimony, the trial in the Thaçi et al. case has adjourned for the day and the week. The scheduled hearing for tomorrow, 5 September, is cancelled. The trial will resume on Monday, 16 September, at 09:00.

The testimony of the Prosecution's 84th witness Rrustem Tetaj resumed this morning and the Thaçi Defence continued their cross-examination that started yesterday.

The Pre-Trial Judge today, 3 September, notified the President that the case file in the case against Sabit Januzi, Ismet Bahtijari and Haxhi Shala will be ready for transmission to a Trial Panel tomorrow, 4 September 2024.

Before this, following the Pre-Trial Judge's order on 23 July and her reminder on 27 August, the Defence of Haxhi Shala submitted, as confidential, its pre-trial brief. The relevant filing confirming this submission can be found here.

Rrustem Tetaj is the next SPO witness, whose testimony commenced this morning. According to the SPO, this witness is a former KLA officer who held various positions in the Dukagjini operational zone during the summer of 1998.

Following the completion of Imer Imeri's testimony, today’s hearing in the Thaçi et al. case is adjourned. The trial will resume tomorrow, 3 September, at 09:00, with the testimony of another SPO witness.

Imer Imeri is the next SPO witness, whose testimony commenced this morning. According to the SPO, the witness was abducted by masked KLA soldiers in Albania for being a supporter of Ibrahim Rugova and the LDK party. He was first detained in Albania and, around mid-June 1999, he was transferred to Kosovo and was detained in Prizren.  

After the completion of the testimony of SPO’s 82nd witness, the trial in the Thaçi et al. case has adjourned for the day and the week. The proceedings will continue on Monday, 2 September, at 09:00.
