In a decision issued on 25 April 2022, the judges of the Specialist Chamber of the Constitutional Court (SCCC) decided to elect Judge Vidar Stensland as Presiding Judge of the SCCC in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the SCCC for a term of one year commencing on 1 June 2022.

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 28 April, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. Defence witness Musli Halimi resumes the testimony in the trial against Mustafa. He is currently being cross-examined by the SPO.

On 19 April 2022, President Trendafilova assigned a Constitutional Court Panel to rule on the referral, filed by the Defence of Pjetër Shala, on 14 April 2022. Judges Vidar Stensland, Roumen Nenkov and Romina Incutti will decide on this referral relating to alleged violations of the accused’s fundamental rights.

The 11th Defence witness in the Mustafa trial is Musli Halimi.

At the end of today’s status conference in the Shala case, Pre-Trial Judge Guillou, in view of the latest submissions of the parties, issued an oral order varying the procedural calendar defined during the last status conference in this case held on 4 March 2022. SPO shall, with the exception of any material subject to any request regarding protective measures or otherwise requiring judicial authorisation, complete all pre-trial disclosure obligations by 27 May 2022 while the Defence shall submit a pre-trial brief, if any, by no later than 15 August 2022. Finally, 31 August 2022 is set as the new tentative date for transmitting the case file to a trial panel.
