As announced in our Court Calendar, the fourth Status Conference in the case against Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj is scheduled to take place on Friday, 30 April, at 11:00 More information in the scheduling order.

On 21 April, Pre-Trial Judge Guillou issued the first decision on victims' participation in the Thaci et al. case. Nine applicants were admitted to the proceedings as participating victims (to be represented as one group) and seven applicants were rejected. The Pre-Trial Judge instructed the Victims’ Participation Office to revert back to one applicant in order to receive more information before making a determination thereon. At his initial appearance before Pre-Trial Judge Guillou today, Pjetër Shala pleaded not guilty to all counts of the indictment.

On 9 April, the Specialist Prosecutor filed, as confidential, its pre-trial brief in the case against Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj. The relevant filing informing of this submission is available here.

Following the appeals by Gucati and Haradinaj against the Pre-Trial Judge’s decision on their preliminary motions regarding, inter alia, alleged defects in the confirmed indictment, President Ekaterina Trendafilova assigned a Court of Appeals panel consisting of Judges Michèle Picard, Emilio Gatti and Kai Ambos to decide on the appeals.
