Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 16 December, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions. Pre-registration is required to attend each briefing. To pre-register, please send an email with name and affiliation to [email protected]. On 15 December, Pre-Trial Judge Guillou issued the first decision on victims' participation in the case of Pjetër Shala. One applicant was admitted to the proceedings as a participating victim and the Pre-Trial Judge directed the Registrar to assign Victims’ Counsel by 28 January 2022. Nasim Haradinaj’s Defence completed its opening statement today. The Panel issued an oral order granting the Haradinaj’s Defence application for adjournment and ordering that the presentation of evidence in the Haradinaj case will start on Tuesday, 11 January 2022. The hearing is adjourned for today and the hearings scheduled for 16 and 17 December are cancelled.

As per Trial Panel II’s previous order, the Gucati Defence will be further cross-examining two recalled SPO witnesses (Zdenka Pumper and Miro Jukić) today, which are expected to be held entirely in private session.

With the completion of witness W04674’s testimony today, the Mustafa trial has adjourned for the year. The hearings in this case will resume on 18 January 2022.

On 10 December 2021, the Pre-Trial Judge Guillou issued the second decision on victims' participation in the Thaci et al. case. Eleven new applicants were admitted to the proceedings as participating victims. They will be included in the already existing Group 1 (with nine participating victims) and shall be represented by the same Victims' Counsel. The decision can be seen here.
