New SPO witness at the Gucati&Haradinaj trial is Miro Jukić, from the SPO Witness Security Team.

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place today at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. The Court of Appeals Panel today denied the appeal by Hashim Thaci, filed on 16 August 2021, against the decision on review of his detention, issued by the pre-trial Judge on 23 July 2021. The Court of Appeals' decision is available here, together with a partially dissenting opinion of Judge Nina Jørgensen.

The SPO continues the examination-in-chief of its witness Halil Berisha.

Halil Berisha, who worked as a journalist for the Kosovo media outlet Gazeta InFokus in September 2020, is the second SPO witness in the Gucati&Haradinaj trial. The witness has been compelled to appear for testimony according to Rule 121(2) of the KSC Rules of Procedure and Evidence and is assisted by a duty counsel.

SPO witness Zdenka Pumper resume her testimony in the Gucati&Haradinaj trial. She is currently being cross-examined by the Haradinaj’s Defence.

Trial Panel II ordered the Kosovo police to provide information, by 26 November 2021, regarding, inter alia, its authority and capability regarding the potential temporary release of Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj. The order is here.

In another, related, decision, Trial Panel II ordered the KSC Registrar to provide her submissions, within the same deadline, about the detention regime at the Specialist Chambers’ detention facilities.

The Gucati Defence resumes with the cross-examination of the SPO witness Zdenka Pumper.

The trial will resume on Monday, 25 October, at 09:30.
