Please be informed that the status conference in the Thaci et al. case will start later than scheduled (15:30 live or at 16:15 in the online broadcast).

Today’s hearing in the Mustafa case is adjourned and the hearing, scheduled for tomorrow, 20 May, is cancelled. Following the Defence submissions yesterday reconsidering its previous position, the unsworn statement of the accused, pursuant to Rule 142 of the Rules, did not take place today. The trial is adjourned until further notice.

Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 19 May, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions. Pre-registration is required to attend each briefing. To pre-register, please send an email with name and affiliation to [email protected]. Today, Trial Panel II pronounced its Trial Judgment in the case of The Specialist Prosecutor v. Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj. The Panel found both accused guilty of obstructing official persons in performing official duties, intimidation during criminal proceedings and violating the secrecy of proceedings and sentenced each Accused to four and a half years’ imprisonment, with credit for time already served, and a fine of 100 EUR each. As announced in our Court Calendar, next Status Conference in the case against Thaci, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi is scheduled for 20 May at 14:30. More details in the scheduling order.

Following the completion of testimony of the last Defence witness, the trial against Salih Mustafa is adjourned for the week and the hearing, scheduled for tomorrow (13 May), is cancelled. The trial will resume on 19 May with the unsworn statement of the accused.

Due to compelling humanitarian grounds, the Trial Panel has instructed the Registry to manage a custodial visit for Hysni Gucati to Kosovo to meet immediate family. The accused remains in detention and in the custody of the Specialist Chambers. EULEX and Kosovo police are supporting the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.

Ibadete Canolli-Kaciu is the 15th Defence witness in the Mustafa trial.
