Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 8 February, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. On 5 February 2024, the Court of Appeals Panel denied Sabit Januzi’s appeal against the Pre-Trial Judge’s decision rejecting his application for provisional release. Here is the decision of the Court of Appeals Panel.

As per the oral order of the Pre-Trial Judge on 3 November last year, the Specialist Prosecutor filed, as confidential, its pre-trial brief in the case against Sabit Januzi and Ismet Bahtijari. The relevant filing informing of this submission is available here.

Soon after the commencement of the testimony of the 45th SPO witness, the trial against Thaçi et al. has adjourned for today and for the week. This trial will resume on 20 February at 09:00.

SPO called its next witness this afternoon. This is a former KLA member Hajrush Kurtaj, who is testifying without protective measures.

As mentioned in our previous post today, there will be an extraordinary ex-parte hearing tomorrow at 16:00. Because of this, the regular hearing in the Thaçi et al. trial tomorrow (31 January) will last from 09:00 until 15:15.

SPO called its next witness this afternoon. This is witness W04325, who will, according to the Prosecution, testify what he saw and learnt during multiple visits to a number of KLA headquarters during the relevant period, including the KLA Commanders he interacted with.
