Today, Friday 11 May, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) added the names of Counsel to the Lists, in addition to Counsel who are already admitted. Being on those Lists enables lawyers to be eligible to appear before the KSC to represent suspects, accused, a group of victims or any other person who is entitled to legal representation in accordance with the Law establishing the KSC and the Directive on Counsel. The public Lists contain the names of 87 legal practitioners from Kosovo, Serbia and a number of other countries. Counsel can choose whether they want their names publicly mentioned on the website of the KSC.

This is the second round of announcements, in addition to the Lists announced on 14 March 2017. The public Lists of Counsel can be seen in the table available on the KSC website.

On this occasion, President of the KSC, Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova congratulates all candidates and underlines her message that stringent requirements for admission to those Lists ensure that defendants and victims will be able to receive effective and professional representation before the KSC, which will further contribute to the integrity of the administration of justice by the Specialist Chambers.

Since November 2017, when the process started, the Defence Office and the Victims’ Participation Office have received numerous applications. The review of applications and the process of admission of Counsel is ongoing. Therefore, these Lists of Counsel will be constantly updated and more applicants will be admitted as the review process continues. Thus, the process will remain open.

The details for admission can be found in the Guide for Applicants.
