The President of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC), Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova and Registrar Dr Fidelma Donlon, following their meetings with civil society, met with the Kosovo Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Qelaj yesterday. During this meeting, the President and the Registrar updated the Ombudsperson on the work and mandate of the KSC. This included the role of the KSC Ombudsperson. Under the KSC Law and Rules of Procedure and Evidence, the KSC Ombudsperson exercises his function independently to monitor and protect the fundamental human rights of persons who interact with the Kosovo Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.
In April of this year, KSC Ombudsperson Judge Pietro Spera also had an introductory meeting with Mr. Qelaj, which took place online.
