    Trial against Shala starts on 21 February

    On 26 January, Trial Panel I decided that the trial against Pjetër Shala will commence on Tuesday, 21 February 2023 at 09:30. The opening statements of the SPO, Victims’ Counsel and the Defence, for which each party will be allocated 2 hours,  will be held on this day and on 22 February, while the actual presentation of evidence will commence on 27 March 2023. More details, including the information on the sitting times in the first period, can be seen in the actual decision.

    KSC Weekly Press Briefing on 26 January 2023

    Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 26 January at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court.     Thaçi, et al. trial: The Panel decides on the conduct of the proceedings

    On 25 January, Trial Panel II issued its guidelines on the presentation of evidence and the conduct of the proceedings in the trial against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, scheduled to commence on 1 March 2023.     Thaҫi et al: Specialist Prosecutor’s preparation conference rescheduled for 15 February

    Today, 19 January, Trial Panel II, upon further consultations with the parties and the participants,  amended its previous (oral) order and scheduled the Specialist Prosecutor’s Preparation Conference in the Thaҫi et al. case for 15 February 2023 at 09:30. Here is the order.

    Thaçi et al. case: today’s hearing adjourned/trial starts on 1 March

    Please be informed that the trial preparation conference in the case against Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi concluded today. During the hearing, Trial Panel II issued a number of oral decisions ordering, inter alia, that, subject to any exceptional circumstances arising in the coming weeks, the trial in this case will commence on 1 March 2023, preceded by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Preparation Conference on 17 February. Among other oral orders relating to different deadlines, the Panel also set the deadline for applications for admission of victims participating in the proceedings – the Registry is ordered to file any such application by 15 February 2023 at 16:00.
