    Constitutional Court Panel assigned to deal with Shala’s referral

    On 19 April 2022, President Trendafilova assigned a Constitutional Court Panel to rule on the referral, filed by the Defence of Pjetër Shala, on 14 April 2022. Judges Vidar Stensland, Roumen Nenkov and Romina Incutti will decide on this referral relating to alleged violations of the accused’s fundamental rights.

    Shala case: procedural calendar varied

    At the end of today’s status conference in the Shala case, Pre-Trial Judge Guillou, in view of the latest submissions of the parties, issued an oral order varying the procedural calendar defined during the last status conference in this case held on 4 March 2022. SPO shall, with the exception of any material subject to any request regarding protective measures or otherwise requiring judicial authorisation, complete all pre-trial disclosure obligations by 27 May 2022 while the Defence shall submit a pre-trial brief, if any, by no later than 15 August 2022. Finally, 31 August 2022 is set as the new tentative date for transmitting the case file to a trial panel.

    KSC Weekly Press Briefing on 14 April

    Another KSC weekly press briefing will take place on Thursday, 14 April, at 14:30. During this briefing, the KSC Spokespersons will provide a short update on the latest developments in the judicial proceedings before the KSC, as well as on other public activities of the Court. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions. Pre-registration is required to attend each briefing. To pre-register, please send an email with name and affiliation to [email protected].
