Minister of Justice of Kosovo, Abelard Tahiri, hosted today a meeting with the President, Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova, and the Registrar of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC), Dr Fidelma Donlon.
President Trendafilova informed the Minister about the developments at the KSC in 2017 as well as about the priorities for the future.
Minister Tahiri briefed the KSC President and the Registrar on steps taken by the Kosovo government to provide legal protection and technical assistance to all citizens of Kosovo who may appear before the court. He also emphasized the readiness of Kosovo institutions to fulfil their obligations deriving from the Law on the Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office, adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo.
During this first meeting between the KSC Principals and Minister Tahiri, both parties emphasised a need to ensure fair, independent, expeditious and transparent proceedings before the KSC in compliance with the highest human rights standards.
